Hlukhiv Region through the Centuries:
A Digital Collection of Historical and Architectural Monuments
About the Project
This project is implemented by the Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University with the financial support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation under the program “Cultural heritage” (Lot 1. Digitization).
Its purpose is to preserve the cultural heritage of the Hlukhiv region and make it accessible to all. The main idea is to create a digital collection of significant historical and architectural monuments that serve not only as symbols of the past, but also as a living part of today’s cultural identity.
The collection includes the most valuable monuments of the region, preserved in digital format for future generations. In addition, 3D models of lost monuments are being recreated from archival photographs. The project unites cultural heritage with modern digital technologies, offering an innovative approach to preserving and promoting the history of our homeland.
Unique objects are presented as three-dimensional models, which allow not only detailed study, but also a virtual “journey through time,” immersing visitors in the atmosphere of past eras. The online resource opens new opportunities for scholars, local historians, students, and the wider public.
